It's been a while since my last Pinup Talk, but it's a blog series I'd love to continue as I'm lucky enough to feature some truly wonderful pinup girls here at My Retro Closet. I don't know about you, but I love to hear about their beauty inspirations and lingerie must haves so we can all learn how to steal their gorgeous pinup perfect photo shoot looks!
Next up is the beautiful Frenchie L'amour, you've probably seen her gorgeous face popping up all over your favourite online retro stores recently. Me and Frenchie collaborated last year, the shoot ended up being featured on a magazine cover (more to come on that topic...) and I wasn't able to use 90% of the images until after the issue came out. So now the magazine issue has been released and I able to reveal more stunning photos from our collaboration, now seems a better time than any to talk to one of the busiest pinup girl's around...
Frenchie L'amour wears my best selling 'Joan' & 'Jayne' babydoll and bed jacket set in powder blue chiffon with baby pink trims which you can purchase HERE. An absolutely stunning colour way the Frenchie chose herself, which has become constant customer fave since these photos came out. I can see why!
This beautiful photo shoot by Kustomnemo Photography was chosen as the front cover for Delicious Dolls magazine and their January 2016 cover! What a way to start the new year. I was absolutely over the moon, my second press feature and first front cover, a huge milestone for my small business!
1. Congratulations getting the January 2016 cover for Delicious Dolls magazine! Is 2016 jam-packed with more exciting accomplishments?
Well a girl never tells, but hopefully! I'm really trying to do as many shoots this year as I can and to work with lots more people!
2. With so many photo shoots already under your belt, what's your favourite style to shoot?
Definitely cheese cake pinup - I love the facial expressions and I'm a massive fan of Gil Elvgren.
Frenchie sure does have a touch of the cheeky Elvgren pinup about her, don't you think?
3. I've seen you do your own hair & makeup for your shoots and you're also a hairdresser! Who are your beauty and styling inspirations?
I take so many of my beauty and styling ideas from so many ladies of the 40s/50s! Elizabeth Taylor has got to be a favourite of mine! I also did so much research when I first started pinup modelling to find the best hairstyle that would suit me! Although I do get called Snow White quite often...
4. What key lingerie pieces would you suggest to replicate your perfect pin up look?
My number one is fully fashions stockings- I love gio stockings. Then of course a pair of marabou slippers. (A girl after our own heart!)
6. Finally, I have to ask, what's on your My Retro Closet wish list?
EVERYTHING !!!! ;)
I hope you've enjoyed the second interview in my Pinup Talk blog series. Isn't Frenchie L'amour lovely? Hopefully we'll collaborate again in the future, I think my new 'Bardot' Babydoll and Bed Jacket would suit her and her Elvgren pinup style perfectly!
Who would you like to see me interview next? Or who do you think should be the next face at My Retro Closet? I'd love to know!
Thanks for reading, pinups!
